AgriFutures Rural Women's Award and Acceleration Grant

The AgriFutures Rural Women's Award is Australia's leading leadership and capacity-building program for women driving positive change across rural, regional
and remote Australia.

About the opportunties

For more than 25 years, the award program has recognised, celebrated and invested in women whose leadership is creating stronger industries, communities and businesses.

It provides a national platform, leadership development opportunities and funding support to help successful applicants grow their influence, strengthen their capabilities and accelerate their impact.

Successful applicants become part of a respected and supportive national alumni network of more than 400 women leaders.

The award is supported by AgriFutures, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, CBH Group, and the Rural, Regional and Remote Women’s Network of Western Australia.

Do you know a woman with a bold idea in rural Australia? 

Nominations are open for the 2027 AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award and Acceleration Grant. 

Nominate yourself, or a woman you admire, by 4 November 2026.  

  • Apply for the WA award

    Each state and territory winner receives a $15,000 grant for their project, business or program, access to professional development opportunities and alumni networks.

  • Apply for the acceleration grant

    Across Australia, 7 women will be granted a learning and development bursary of up to $7,000 for professional development to enable them to bring their idea, cause or vision to life.

2026 Western Australian State Winner and National Finalist

Angela Teale is Strategic Advisor and Co‑Founder of Starsite Pty Ltd, where she combines aerospace engineering expertise with a deep commitment to regional development. 

She is the 2026 Rural Women's Award Western Australian State Winner and National Finalist.

2026 WA finalists

Three inspirational regional women were announced as the 2026 WA finalists. From cutting-edge space technology to showcasing premium WA food and innovation, their diverse initiatives seek to strengthen rural communities, drive dynamic industries and inspire female leadership.

  • Suzannah Moss-Wright

    Suzannah is pioneering Mottainai® Lamb, a project that combines sustainability, supply chain innovation and direct-to-chef distribution, aiming to create regional jobs and inspire female    ag-tech leadership. 

  • Fiona Mann

    By transforming canola from her farm into premium cold-pressed oil, Fiona aims to scale production, expand into interstate and international markets, inspire other farmers to diversify, and showcase the Mid-West food bowl.  

  • Angela Teale

    In partnership with a major international space company, Angela is pioneering a project to establish WA as a hub in global space communications to demonstrate that technical industries can thrive in the regions.
